You may walk right by this small restaurant in Mount Pleasant--it's certainly unassuming, sitting between a few bigger restaurants and stores, across from the behemoth Don Juan. But you are doing yourself a disservice if you don't go inside! My friend and I had a delicious meal here Wednesday evening, for most of the time completely alone in the restaurant. It has a very cute interior with many twinkling lights and a cool kitchen counter too! We began with the chips and queso. The queso tasted like good stadium queso--not a complaint at all. The chips were next level! They tasted freshly fried and perfectly crispy. I ordered the combination platter and ADORED it. Every piece was scrumptious. The taco rocked. The pupusa rocked. The mini burrito rocked. And the tamale? Guess what, it rocked! The rice and beans were the perfect side to this filling and inexpensive dish. We ended the night with the flan, which was more egg custard-like in consistency than I had expected but delicious nonetheless. Our waitress was so kind--she didn't speak much English, so I got to flex my embarrassing high school Spanish. Luckily I know the Spanish word for dessert! I'll be back here many times to dine in and to take out. And I better see you all there!!!

Delicious, flavorful food! Probably the best veggie burrito I've had in a while, as the filling was really tasty and well-seasoned. They had a bunch of other stuff on the menu that looked great, so I'll definitely be back to check out some of the other options. Laid back vibe, friendly service--you can't go wrong.

Went late on a Saturday night, the music was ongoing and there were a few hanging out having a drink. They serve food pretty late and we took a chance, the ladies in the kitchen give off a grandma's home cooking vibe. We split the tamales platter and the portion was generous, fresh and has that home cooked meal feel (not greasy and well timed cheese topping). They have paella on the menu, would definitely return to try that and more!

Tried this new neighborhood spot in Mt. Pleasant (opened in November). They have a limited but strong menu and I ordered a steak burrito. The style was a bit different than I'm used to--it was stuffed full with meat and covered in cheese, with rice and beans and accompaniments on the side. The steak was pretty delicious and not overcooked, maybe a little underseasoned, and the beans were much different than what I was expecting--very well seasoned pinto beans (no refried stuff here). Came with fresh avocado, sour cream, and fresh lettuce and tomato for on top. The tortilla was soft and easy to cut through. Portion was very generous and enough for 2 meals. Server was very lovely and my order was ready 5 minutes after I placed it on the phone. I look forward to coming here and trying more of their menu. They post a lot of the daily specials on Facebook.
